SHABOOZEY IS MAKING HISTORY WITH "A BAR SONG (TIPSY)" ON BILLBOARD HOT 100

Shaboozey's making history! Not only is he dominating the Hot 100, but he's also the first Black male artist to simultaneously top both the Hot Country Songs and Hot 100 charts. Talk about breaking barriers and bringing people together through music! Shaboozey's catchy country-rap hit "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" is still riding high at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for a whopping ninth week! This infectious tune has got everyone tapping their feet and singing along, from country to city streets.

The stats don't lie, y'all! With nearly 78 million radio airplay impressions and a staggering 30 million official streams, "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" reflects unapologetic country music. But wait, there's more! This chart-topper has also snagged a nomination for Single of the Year at the 58th annual CMA Awards. And let's not forget about Shaboozey himself – he's up for New Artist of the Year too!

It still seems the country music genre is having a hard time accepting the success of Black people within the genre. Beyonce has been snubbed in every category for the nominations for the 2024 CMA awards, despite having one of the biggest country music hits this year with "Texas Hold 'Em," a cut from the Cowboy Carter, itself one of the biggest albums of the genre in 2024. While Beyonce was given the cold shoulder, Morgan Wallen who faced backlash for using the n-word in 2021, leads the nominations with seven. Post Malone is not too far behind with four nominations. Let's not forget, Beyonce made history with "Texas Hold 'Em," topping the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for 10 consecutive weeks, marking the second longest-running No. 1 hit of 2024 and becoming the first Black woman to ever do so.

You've got to hand it to Shaboozey - he's cracked the code on creating a truly infectious crossover hit! "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" is a masterclass in blending genres, taking the twangy charm of country and infusing it with the irresistible beat of trap music. Remember J-Kwon's 2009 banger "Tipsy"? Shaboozey ingeniously samples that hook, giving it a countrified makeover that's both nostalgic and refreshingly new. The result? A chart-topping sensation that's got everyone from cowboys to club-goers tuning in!
